When you have beautiful cutlery and want to show it off, Sabatier's glass and oak block offers an alternative to the traditional wooden knife block. There's room for a long knife in each of the block's wooden ends, and two tiers of glass in the middle display your other knives. The deeper receptacle is 9-1/2 inches deep, so it will hold your longest knives; the shorter receptacle is 8-1/4 inches deep and will easily hold a set of six steak knives. The whole piece is extremely heavy, so there's no danger of tipping it over when reaching for your chef's knife.
