Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Sabatier Laguiole 6-Piece Steak Knife Set, Black and BrassCustomer Review: SHARP IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE! Summary: 5 Stars
These new knives for us, are not only gorgeous, but work remarkable well. The reason we say that is due to the reviews these knives in previous reviews. We have found no problems, either with the looks, and especially their cutting performance! Using these knives on steak is a breeze, not to mention any other of the fine meats we have cooked. But the best feature, besides working like a charm, is the looks compared to our former Cutco wonders! They are FAR more elegant, and are far above the cutting expectations we hoped for. A fine product for everyday use, as well as special occasions!! ENJOY!
Description of Sabatier Laguiole 6-Piece Steak Knife Set, Black and BrassThe Laguiole knife originated in 1829 in a French mountain village of the same name. Back then, farmers folded it into their pocket. Today, Laguiole steak knives are made in Thiers, the French cutlery center, according to the original design--except they don't fold. Long (9-1/8 inches overall, with 4-1/2-inch blades) and slender, these knives impart a whiff of ornate chateau manners and crystal chandeliers. Bonelike handles are elongated "pistol grips" like those on dueling weapons. Five tiny brass rivets bind them to full tangs. Brass caps decorate handle ends. Tiny steel bees sit atop brass bolsters, homage to a bee on Napoleon's Imperial emblem, awarded to him for bravery. Blades are finely serrated. Wash these knives by hand with mild detergent and store them in their wood case. --Fred Brack
